It’s a heavy Monday for USC basketball coach Frank Martin. On top of dealing with a team that has lost five of its last seven games, including Saturday at home against Mississippi State, and recovering from his second bout with Covid, Martin learned last night of the death of his very close friend ESPN baseball reporter Pedro Gomez.
Despite the heavy heart, Martin is moving forward with preparing his team for Tuesday night’s meeting with SEC leading Alabama at the Colonial Life Arena. The Crimson Tide suffered its first league loss of the season Saturday at Missouri.
Monday morning Martin met with the media via Zoom and shared his feelings on Gomez and his plans for getting his team ready for Alabama.
