Sunday Conference Call: Swinney looks back on historic blowout and ahead to Syracuse’s visit to #Clemson (AUDIO)

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney held his weekly conference call, Sunday, to review what turned out to be an historic day in Atlanta against Georgia Tech and look ahead to the Tigers matchup with Syracuse. Swinney had plenty of praise for the stars that staked Clemson to a 52-7 halftime lead over the Yellow Jackets, but he did not overlook the contributions of the reserves that extended that lead out to 73-7 over the course of the third and fourth quarters. Swinney said, “That was the best game we’ve played. We played four quarters …. Backup offensive line got better, Saturday. Still a lot of work to do, but they got better. Speaks to their preparation. The stat of the game is that we played four quarterbacks and 17 different players caught a pass.”

The only change to the injury report is that reserve quarterback Taisun Phommachanh had screws placed in his broken hand during surgery, Sunday. Swinney expects him back soon, but he will have to deal with a cast.

Swinney and Clemson have now turned their attention to the matchup with Syracuse, scheduled for a noon kickoff at Death Valley, Saturday.
