
The decision has been made by 6-3 combo guard Joshua Beadle of Cardinal Newman. After narrowing his list to Clemson, Wake Forest, Furman, College of Charleston and VCU, Beadle has notified the school he’s chosen and will announce his commitment Saturday in Twitter at a time to be determined. “It was a very hard decision because all the schools were good schools, but the degree weighed over the other schools. That made a big difference. They were excited and pretty much said we can get to work now.” Beadle averaged 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game last season.
The USC women Thursday night landed their fourth highly rated recruit for the 2021 class in 5-8 PG Raven Johnson of Atlanta. ESPN HoopGurlz rates her as a five-star recruit, the #2 point guard in the country and the #13 prospect overall. Last season she averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game. She averaged 27 points per game as a sophomore.
Clemson offered 6-9 guard Eric van der Heijden of Raleigh and 6-6 Lucas Taylor of Wake Forest, NC. Both are rated as four-star prospects. van der Heijden also has offers from George Washington, Maryland, Providence, Texas, Louisville, Wake Forest, Xavier, College of Charleston and Nebraska. Last season he averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game. Taylor also has offers from Miami, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Charlotte, Connecticut, Arizona State, Marquette, Xavier, Providence and others. Last season he averaged 22 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
USC target DE George Wilson of Virginia Beach will announce his commitment on July 12. He has the Gamecocks, North Carolina, Penn State and Arizona State as his final four.
USC offered 2022 LB Melvin Jordan (6-0 205) of Clearwater, FL. He’s rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports. Some of his other offers are Florida State, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois and Arizona State. He was committed to Florida State until the coaching change there, and has called Arizona State his current favorite.
