Jahvaree Ritzie

DE Jahvaree Ritzie of Kernersville, NC has set June 12th for his commitment announcement. He’s down to USC, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Ohio State. Ritzie is rated a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and is ranked the #14 strongside defensive end in the country. Last season Ritzie had 74 tackles with 18.5 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and 4 passes broken up.

Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated reported 4-star LB Barrett Carter of Suwanee, GA will announce his commitment the night of May 19th on Atlanta TV. Clemson has been a favorite and already has a commitment from his teammate DB Jordan Hancock.

Clemson is in the final four with 4-star safety Kendal Daniels of Beggs, OK. The others are LSU, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Wagener-Salley DE Elijah Davis (6-5 260) was offered by West Virginia.

2022 DB Jeadyn Lukus of Mauldin was offered by Penn State.

USC offered 2022 OL Austin Firestone (6-5 260) of Niceville, FL. Tennessee, Tulane, Kansas, Coastal Carolina are among his offers. He’s rated a 3-star by 247Sports.

Clemson is in the top 15 with 5-star OL Tristan Leigh of Fairfax, VA.  The others on his list are Georgia, Florida State, Virginia, LSU, Florida, Virginia Tech, Miami, Penn State, Oklahoma,  Maryland, UCF, Ohio State, Alabama and Southern Cal.  Leigh visited Clemson last season for the Florida State game He was back in January for a junior day. Leigh remains in touch with Clemson offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell who is selling him on the idea of being his next left tackle following Jackson Carman.

USC made the top 7 with DE George Wilson of Virginia Beach. The others on his short list are Arizona State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee and Wake Forest. Some of those cut from his list were Syracuse, Indiana, Michigan State, Georgia Tech and Maryland.

USC is in the top 10 with CB Khyree Jackson (6-3 197) of East Mississippi JC. The others are Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Florida State, Maryland, Mississippi State, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Oregon and Louisville. He’s a native of Upper Marlboro, MD. USC just offered Jackson last week. Jackson played last season at Fort Scott JC, KS and had 25 tackles and 3 interceptions.

Myrtle Beach WR JJ  Jones set August 5th for his commitment date.  He’s narrowed his list to USC, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi State. 

Clemson QB offer Bubba Chandler has a Zoom meeting with the Louisville offensive staff Tuesday. The Cardinals have not yet offered. He went thru a number of long-distance meetings with Clemson coaches before getting the offer.

Former USC OL commitment Issiah Walker of Miami, who signed last December with Florida and enrolled in January, is transferring to Miami. 

RB Mar’keise Irving of Country Club Hills, IL, who had a USC offer, committed to Minnesota.

WR Dekel Crowdus of Lexington, KY, who had a USC offer, committed to Kentucky.

Dawson Coleman of Beaufort Academy plans to join USC this fall as a preferred a walk-on as a wide receiver or tight end. 

USC is among the offers for 2023 DL Kelby Collins (6-4 230) of Gardendale, AL. Some of his other offers are Auburn, Mississippi State, LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky, UAB, Georgia Tech and Arkansas.

Sumter LB Deshawn McKnight committed to Appalachian State.

River Bluff WR Kendall Long committed to Syracuse.

South Pointe ATH O’Mega Blake was offered by Kentucky.

LSU offered Gaffney DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins.

York WR Da’Shawn Brown was offered by Georgia Southern.

2022 DL Nicholas Williams of Fox Creek was offered by Michigan State.

Blair Sanderson of Hawkeye Report, a Rivals website, last week ranked schools by the number of 2021 class offers each has handed out as reported in the Rivals database. Nebraska and Tennessee led the nation with 392 offers. USC ranked 31st with 221 offers. Clemson was ranked 64th, next to last, with 69 offers handed out. Stanford was last at #65 with 42 offers.

6-9 Cesare Edwards of Hartsville was offered by Providence. He’s a Clemson and USC target.

6-3 Rob McCray of AC Flora has picked up offers from Wake Forest, Winthrop, Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion.

Ole Miss offered 2022 6-6 Julian Phillips of Blythewood.

The Citadel announced four signees last week:  6-3 Brent Davis of Miramar, FL; 6-4 Dylan Engler of Oswego, IL; 6-9 Owen Spencer of Cincinnati;  and 6-1 Tyler Moffe of Elmira, NY.
