South Carolina’s Dawn Staley, one of four finalists for the Naismith women’s basketball coach of the year, joined SportsTalk, Thursday, to discuss what made her team so special and if they deserve to be recognized as national champions despite the cancellation of the NCAA tournament.
The Gamecocks finished 32-1 and cleaned out the SEC, going 16-0 in conference play while claiming both the regular season and tournament titles.
Staley also touched on what a matchup would have looked like between her no. 1 Gamecocks and no. 2 Oregon.
