#STRecruiting: Muschamp offers Georgia corner on first visit #Gamecocks

Jamorri Colson

CB Jamorri Colson (5-11 160) of Ocilla, GA made his first ever visit to USC Monday and he left with an offer from the Gamecocks. Colson plays cornerback and wide receiver and he said Muschamp and defensive coordinator/secondary coach Travaris Robinson want him as a corner.

“It means a lot to get an offer from a big school like that, a successful school at that, that means a lot too,” Colson said.  “I think it’s a good place to go.  They coach you hard.  Most importantly, they worry about your education there too.  It’s a pretty good program they’ve got up there in Columbia.”

Colson said when he and teammate DJ Lundy and their coaches arrived, they toured the new football operations center.

“I loved it,” he said.  “The nutrition center (stood out). And when we first got there, we went to the weight room and the strength and condition coach gave us a good look at things.”

Colson had a conversation with Muschamp during the visit and hear some good things from him.

“He said he loved my character, how I just don’t play football but play basketball and run track,” he said.  “He said he actually loved my tape.” And as for what Robinson likes about him, Colson said, “He just loves the way I play. He said he loves my technique and my skill set.”

Colson said he also has offers from West Virginia, Maryland, Indiana, Colorado, Colorado State, Mississippi State, Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Akron and Troy. He also has visited Wake Forest, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern and Troy.

Tuesday Colson said he and Lundy and their coaches will visit Clemson and Georgia Tech. He said he hears from Clemson “every once in awhile.”

Colson said he plans to let the process play out for a little bit and doesn’t plan to return to USC until he takes his official visit in December.
