
Three times this seasons the 6th ranked South Carolina women have lost, and in the following game after each loss the Gamecocks have punished the opponent. Last Sunday the Gamecocks lost to UConn at home, and Thursday night they took out their frustrations on Arkansas 95-55.
Earlier in the season, the Gamecocks beat Iowa State by 40 points the game after losing to UCLA, and they whipped Florida by 38 points the game after falling to Texas.
USC never trailed Thursday night in beating the Razorbacks for the 10th straight time. They won all four quarters handily as they beat up Arkansas on the inside while also being deadly from the outside.
The Gamecocks won the paint 48-10. They outrebounded Arkansas 57-28 and had 23 offensive rebounds they converted into 14 second chance points. They also canned eight three-pointers with Bree Hall knocking down three.
The ball also moved on offense with 27 assists on 37 baskets. And the Gamecocks made their free throw s going 13-15 at the line.
USC was also tenacious on defense forcing 15 tunorvers they converted into 22 points. They had eight steals, five blocks and had 33 fastbreak points. They held Arkansas to 32% shooting. The Razorbacks did make 11 three-pointers but missed a dozen layups.
Freshman Joyce Edwards led USC with 18 points and also grabbed eight rebounds. MiLaysia Fulwiley had 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. Chloe Kitts recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
The Gamecocks are now 24-3 overall and 12-1 in the SEC and will play at Vanderbilt on Sunday.
