Conway, SC: Coastal Carolina football flashed back to the 1990s on Friday night for its nationally televised game with arch-rival Appalachian State. Unfortunately the Chanticleers weren’t quite “all that and a bag of chips.”
App State outscored CCU 21-8 in the second half to rally past Coastal 35-32 in front of an announced crowd of 19,485 at Brooks Stadium. The win snapped a four-game losing streak in the series for the Mountaineers and continued a disturbing second-half trend for the Chanticleers. Coastal has been outscored 94 to 77 this season in the final thirty minutes, blowing halftime leads against Liberty and App State in the process.
