UNC 67 — Clemson 63 (Game Summary by Grayson Mann)

• Clemson shot 42% from the field in the first half and closed the opening period on a 7-0 run to lead 30-27 at the break
• RJ Godfrey led the Tigers with a career-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field. The performance marked Godfrey’s 22nd double-digit scoring game of the season
• Playing without its star Caleb Wilson, the Tar Heels turned to guard Luka Bogavac to pick up the slack. The native of Montenegro scored twenty points on a season-high six made three-point field goals
• UNC was 11-of-15 from the free throw line, while the Tigers were only 4-of-6 from the stripe
• With 46 seconds to play and leading 61-59, UNC’s Derek Dixon drilled a deep three to push North Carolina’s advantage to five
• The Tigers responded with a pair of Dillon Hunter free throws to cut the deficit to 64-61 with :37 remaining. Then, following a missed FT by UNC, Hunter scored on a driving layup to make it a one-point game with :18 left
• Bogavac then tacked on a pair of free throws to give UNC a 66-63 lead, but the Tigers had one final chance to tie the game. However, Hunter missed a layup and the subsequent tip-in as the clock was winding down. The Tigers committed a foul, allowing North Carolina to seal the game on the other end with a free throw
• Jestin Porter and Dillon Hunter finished with nine combined points on 3-14 shooting
• For the first time in program history, North Carolina posts an 18-0 record at home
• The loss to UNC means that Clemson dropped all four of its contests to the schools in North Carolina this season. An 80-76 OT loss to NC State, a 67-54 setback to Duke, and Wake Forest pulled out an 85-77 win over the Tigers in Winston-Salem
• Clemson (21-9/11-6) falls to fifth in the ACC standings and will wrap up the regular season at home against Georgia Tech on Saturday
