Clemson’s fall camp practice has been in full swing as Coach Dabo Swinney returned to the media room for an update on competition, personnel, and other developments after practice. The Tigers have completed five practices so far as they look ahead towards a scrimmage at the end of the week on Saturday morning.

Key Swinney Comments:

> We’ve gotten a lot done in a week’s time. All of us putting our heads down and putting the work in.

> Long days, but I love this time of year because it’s all ball.

> Our first preseason ‘game’ is Saturday. We get two of those.

> Tomorrow will be the first day we tackle to the ground.

> We’ve had a lot of competition. A lot of promotion and demotion.

> I think we got four guys in the (QB) room that can function for us in a winning way.

> It just happened the other day (Vic Burley’s injury). I think it’s day-to-day.

> No. We’re just working. Just a bunch of nobody’s. (When asked if someone has surprised him or stood out)

> Lot of competition (at RG) and across the board. Whose the best five? And we will figure it out from there.

> That’s one guy I’ll single out, (CB) Ashton Hampton. He shows up everyday like he’s playing in the Super Bowl.

> You’re going to have a new team every year. You got to put it together and go battle.

> (DTs) aren’t ready to play yet.

> Now that’s a good question. Let’s talk about the long snappers.

> The two guys that have separated a little bit (in the LB room) is Jeremiah (Alexander) and Kobe (McCloud).

> (P) Jack Smith has been very consistent. I’d say the thing about (K) Nolan Hauser.
