Syracuse Orange key players
Quarterback Steve Angeli: Angeli transferred from Notre Dame to Syracuse in 2025 and engineered a 3-1 start for the Orange before suffering a season-ending injury at Clemson. Angeli was also the nation’s leading passer with 1,317 yards and ten touchdowns before tearing his Achilles.
Defensive back Demetres Samuel, Jr.: Samuel finished fourth in ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year voting after breakout freshman campaign, leading the Orange with nine pass breakups.
Cornerback Chris Peal: Peal started every game last season, making 47 tackles and breaking up seven passes.
