  • Phillips started the ninth but gave up back-to-back singles and was replaced by Connor Chicoli. The Tigers attempted a bunt, but Talmadge LeCroy threw out the lead runner at third for the first out of the inning. Chicoli struck out the next batter with a runner on second. Monte Lee then brought in Alex Philpott to face former Gamecock Jase Woita, and he got a fly ball to center to end the game.
  • The only run of the game was scored in the fourth inning. With one out, Tyler Bak tripled to left. After Luke Yuhasz struck out for the second out, LeCroy hit a grounder to short. The throw went astray for an error and allowed Bak to score.

  • After scoring their lone run, the next nine Gamecocks were retired by Missouri starter Brady Kehlenbring (3-5). He was lifted in the eighth after yielding a one-out double to Ethan Lizama. Jake Randolph grounded to third, moving Lizama to third, but he was stranded when Erik Parker struck out.
  • In the ninth, Patrick Evans led off with a single and eventually reached third with two outs, but LeCroy struck out to end the inning.
  • After winning with five hits on Thursday night, the Gamecocks managed to pull this out on three hits.
