STRecruiting: Clemson is hoping to crack inside the “Top 12” of highly touted 2027 OT Sidney Rouleau

When you are shopping for a dozen eggs in the grocery store, the one thing you do is inspect the carton to make sure none of the eggs are cracked. Clemson football is hoping there is a little flaw in Sidney Rouleau’s basket of schools. The 6-6, 260-pound offensive tackle from The Brook Hill School in Bullard, TX, recently hosted Tigers OL coach Matt Luke for a visit during the contact period, marking an essential step for the Tigers to get some time one-on-one with the highly regarded prospect.

Clemson is making strides, but in this recruitment, the Tigers are currently on the outside looking in. In January, Rouleau released a top 12 featuring Ohio State, Florida State, SMU, Georgia, Oklahoma, Southern Cal, Tennessee, Miami, Oregon, Alabama, Florida, and Michigan.

That hasn’t deterred Clemson from keeping tabs on him, and it seems Luke’s efforts in a relationship that’s only truly getting started are paying off in a big way.

“The conversation was very good,” Rouleau recently stated. “With Coach Luke, we talked about a lot of stuff, and the relationship has just started and grown a little, too.”

He credits assistant OL coach Carson Cramer’s efforts in setting a strong foundation, and it’s been up to Luke to attempt to carry this home. Currently, the Tigers have offered six offensive tackles and recently secured a haul of signees in the 2026 class. Still, that hasn’t stopped Luke from making the rounds to see where this roster could improve within the trenches.

The question surrounding the recruitment with Rouleau is, despite not being in the top 12 at the moment, is there a chance for the Tigers to break through in the coming months? Clemson is set to host Rouleau for a visit on March 7th, adding “Big Sid” to a stacked guest list that will only continue to grow.

The Tigers have a puncher’s chance and have some time between now and March to continue building on that momentum.

“Clemson would probably get a chance to get in my top 12 for sure,” Rouleau confessed. “I’m also looking to commit by this summer before my senior season.”
