STRecruiting Notebook 1-30: Coaches stay on the trail with dead period looming; South Carolina offers Georgia 2028 defensive end

South Carolina offered 2028 DE Myles Tate (6-3 205) of College Park, GA. He’s also a baseball prospect. He also has offers from Kansas State, SMU, Kentucky, East Carolina, UConn, LSU, Virginia Tech, Pitt, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Cal and others.

South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and several assistants visited Friday with Woodruff RB Aiden Gibson. Gibson also picked up an offer from Coastal Carolina on Friday.

South Carolina coach Shane Beamer visited OL Brady Hull of Pulaski, KY.

South Carolina coaches visited Thursday night with OL Maxwell Hiller in Pennsylvania.

South Carolina DE coach Deion Barnes visited Thursday night with DE Anthony Sweeney of Olney, MD.

Clemson coaches Dabo Swinney and Matt Luke were in Pittsburgh to visit OT Jimmy Kalis. LSU and Texas were also in this week.

Clemson OL coach Matt Luke visited OT Q’mari Hudson (6-5 310) of Chesapeake VA.

Miami coaches were in to see South Carolina target LB AJ Randle Jr. of Raleigh on Friday.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart visited South Carolina target DE KJ Green of Stone Mountain, GA on Friday.

Kentucky coach Will Stein visited South Carolina target Brady Hull on Friday.

2029 CB Captain Munnerlyn Jr. of Mobile, a South Carolina target, was offered by LSU.

WR Isaiah Johnson (6-1 173) of Union, KY committed to The Citadel. He’s the son of former College of Charleston basketball star Danny Johnson, who began his career at Clemson. Johnson attends the Berkshire School in Massachusetts.

AC Flora QB and INF Roper Wentzky committed to the College of Charleston.
