#STRecruiting: Sunday night update on LB Justin Rowe

Justin Rowe

Late last week, LB Justin Rowe (6-3 210) of Asheville and his parents had a phone conversation with South Carolina linebackers coach and defensive coordinator Clayton White. Shortly after that conversation, Rowe said he was ready to make his commitment to a school with the Gamecocks, Virginia and Wake Forest his top three.

Rowe did not make that call through the weekend, but he said Sunday night he planned to do so in the early afternoon Monday.

“By the looks of it, I think tomorrow (Monday) I’ll be officially making the phone call and committing,” Rowe said.  “I have nothing planned for announcing at the moment.  I’m going to make the call, but I’m not quite sure on the announcement.  I want to get the call out the way and then I’ll work on that part later on.”

Rowe indicated USC head coach Shane Beamer might want to have a commitment alert ready to send out to his followers Monday afternoon.

“South Carolina seems very well, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that ends up being my final decision,” Rowe said.  “I’d say my relationship with the staff, the culture of football that they bring and the trajectory of the program, moving in the right direction.  I can progress very well with the coaching staff.”

Rowe did not make it to Columbia for the spring game. He was in to watch a spring practice in March, and he has an official visit scheduled with the Gamecocks for June 21st.
