It’s doubtful Trent Pearman thought going into Clemson’s “Orange and White” game on Saturday that he would be the star on offense. But that was indeed the case for the redshirt sophomore. The Clemson native outshined his competitors in the QB room, throwing a TD pass during the exhibition while also electrifying the crowd (and maybe surprising his defensive teammates) with a 49-yard touchdown run. Meanwhile, Cade Klubnik passed for 158 yards, completing 13 of 26 with one interception, while Christopher Vizzina was 14 of 25 for 108 yards and two picks.
However, when the dust settles prior to the Georgia game on August 31st, Tiger fans should expect to see Cade Klubnik behind center against the Bulldogs.
After Saturday’s exhibition, Klubnik met with the media to recap spring practice. He discussed the growth he’s made entering his second year with Garrett Riley as coordinator and what things he likes about the OL and run game coming out of spring.
