USC football coach Shane Beamer didn’t have much news to share Tuesday when he met with the media for a third time this spring. The only new injury of note was running back Bradley Dunn who will miss the rest of spring practice with an ankle injury suffered in a recent practice.
Beamer pointed out the injury to Dunn further reduces the number of healthy bodies in the running back room. Beamer said transfers Oscar Adaway and Jawarn Howell are getting most of the snaps and have looked good.
The Gamecocks will hold their first major scrimmage of the spring Saturday inside Williams-Brice Stadium. Beamer said he hopes to see some seperation in the quarterback competition, which remains tight. He said he has not yet decided if he will make the quarterbacks live in the scrimmage.
Beamer said he’s also been pleased with what he has seen from his defensive ends and feels they will be a more disruptive group than last season.
