USC has a big-time game for them Saturday afternoon at Williams-Brice Stadium with the Florida Gators coming to Columbia. The Gamecock coaching staff will use the opportunity to bring in some big-time recruits. One confirmed is their 2025 quarterback target Ryan Montgomery of Findlay, OH. Another, that’s in the possible category, is their top 2024 running back target Daniel Hill of Meridan, MS.
“I’d say it’s over a fifty percent chance,” said Hill who last visited USC for his official visit in June. “We’ve just got to arrange travel plans. They want me to come but they said if I can’t come, they’d get me down there eventually.”
Hill’s most recent school visit was to Tennessee for an official visit two Saturday’s back when the Gamecocks were in Knoxville. He got the chance to see two of his three finalists compete on the field head-to-head
“I’d say both played pretty well. You know, Tennessee came out on top, but I feel like both teams played pretty well,” Hill said. “It was a good atmosphere overall.”.
Hill said he did notice the Gamecocks’ making the effort to run the football, and they had some success with Mario Anderson who finished with 101 yards on ten carries including a 75-yard touchdown jaunt.
“I really do like what they were doing with him,” Hill said. “Game time situations, just let him do what he do.”
Hill added that USC head coach Shane Beamer and running back coach Montario Hardest remain in steady contact. Nothing has changed from the standpoint of their interest in him and vice versa.
“Pretty much the same,” Hill said. “I’m just going to let everything play out, see how everything goes for the rest of the season and go from there. Just taking the process slow and let everything play out.”
Alabama is the third contender for Hill, and he’s been to games there this season. He said as of right now he does not have plans to return to either Tennessee or Alabama for more games.
Hill is having another big season and scored four touchdowns in a loss Friday night. On the season he has rushed for 1200 yards and has scored 18 total touchdowns.
