Arkansas coach Sam Pittman was his typical jovial self during his back and forth with the media Wednesday. Many of his answers elicited chuckles from the room. But Razorback fans won’t be laughing if he turns in another 7-6 record this season.
The Hogs return just ten starters from last season, and only four on offense. But two of those four are two of the most dynamic players in the SEC in quarterback KJ Jefferson and running back Rocket Sanders. Arkansas lost all of their top receivers from a year ago including tight end Try Knox who is now at South Carolina.
Arkansas could score last season, but their problem was stopping others from scoring. They allowed nearly 31 points per game. To fix that, Pittman hired Spring Valley grad Travis Williams from UCF to be his new defensive coordinator, and he also brought in Marcus Woodson from Florida State to be the co-defensive coordinator.
