The 2022 season was one of major transition for the Wofford Terriers. Head coach Josh Conklin resigned October 6th with his team off to an 0-5 start and having scored a total of 36 points in those games. He was replaced by offensive coordinator Shawn Watson who was in his first season on the staff.
Watson steadied the ship. The veteran coach went 3-3 over the final six games with the offense averaging nearly 31 points per game. That finish led athletics director Richard Johnson to make Watson the fulltime coach after the season.
Watson recently joined us on SportsTalk to talk about what he was able to salvage last season, and his expectations as he begins a new era of Wofford football in 2023.
