A hectic weekend for CCU football came to a close late Sunday afternoon as the Chanticleers learned they would be facing East Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl on December 27th. The contest will be the first ever between Coastal and East Carolina.
It will be Coastal’s third straight bowl appearance since transitioning to the FBS. The Chanticleers lost the 2020 Cure Bowl to Liberty, 37-34, in overtime, before claiming the same event last year against Northern Illinois, 47-41.
CCU has scheduled a press conference for Monday afternoon to introduce its new head football coach, Tim Beck. Beck replaces Jamey Chadwell, who was also introduced on Sunday as the new coach at Liberty University.
