Mark Kingston looks ahead to Kentucky (AUDIO) #Gamecocks

It appears many USC fans are ready to pack up the bats and balls and start looking forward to next baseball season. Don’t count head coach Mark Kingston and his players among those with that opinion. Despite a 24-23 record and a loss this week to USC-Upstate, Kingston says his team has plenty for which to play as it prepares to host Kentucky this weekend. The Gamecocks are 10-14 in the SEC, good enough for a tie for 9th with Alabama and Ole Miss. Meantime, the Wildcats are a game back of USC in the league standings at 9-15, entering the three-game series with the Gamecocks.

On Thursday, Kingston met with the media to preview this weekend’s series with Kentucky, which begins on Friday night at 7pm. He also voiced his disappointment in the RPI rankings and pushed his team’s standing in the Warren Nolan ELO rankings and is hoping the NCAA selection committee might give more weight to the latter.
