#STRecruiting: Two more #Gamecocks enter the transfer portal

5th year tackle Jazston Turnetine is one of two new Gamecocks in the portal (Sideline Carolina)

The race to beat Sunday’s deadline to enter the NCAA transfer portal is at a break neck pace and on Friday, USC football saw two more members add their names to the portal. According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, the Gamecocks have lost offensive lineman Jazston Turnetine and wide receiver Trey Adkins. Turnetine a fifth year tackle played in eleven games this past season, starting seven of them. However, he did not participate in the regular season finale against Clemson, nor the bowl game versus UNC. Turnetine is the first offensive lineman from the 2021 team to enter the portal since spring practice, as fellow offensive lineman Vincent Murphy announced his departure back in December.

Meantime, wideout Trey Adkins revealed via Twitter that he has also placed his name into the transfer portal. The junior from Simpsonville recorded just two receptions this past season and had seven career catches for 98 yards at USC. In the post, Adkins noted that he’ll be transferring as a graduate with two years of eligibility remaining. He’s the fourth wide receiver to move on from the Gamecocks following the conclusion of spring practice.
