#STRecruiting: Former Tennessee LB checks out #Gamecocks

LB Morven Joseph (6-2215) decided to leave the Tennessee program earlier this month and entered the Transfer Portal on November 8th. USC was one of the first schools to make contact him and he was in Columbia Saturday night to watch the Gamecocks take on Clemson. That was his first visit since deciding to make a move. Joseph said he was offered on the visit and the Gamecocks are in a good spot with him.

“I saw a lot of good things,” Joseph said.  “I liked the way the fans reacted. I was looking at the outside linebackers and I saw they had one up and one down.  I like that.  I’m an outside linebacker guy.”

This was the first chance for USC defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Clayton White to see Joseph in person. Apparently, he liked what he saw because Joseph got what he was looking for, an offer.

“They said they wanted me to come and see how I look, and they said I looked good,” Joseph said.  “They said they liked what they saw, and I’ve got an offer.”

As much as the Gamecocks must have liked what they saw in Joseph, he felt the same way towards them.

“I like what I saw, and I liked what I heard from the coaches,” Joseph said.  “It’s all about the trust and love.  I like what I’ve got there.  There’s a chance up there.”

Joseph said he was joined n the visit by his uncle and aunt. He said Florida State and FAU, two schools not far from his Lakeland, FL home, also are showing interest and he might visit both. He plans to make his decision by the December 15th early signing day.

Joseph chose Tennessee over Florida and Florida State coming out of Lakeland. He did not play much in Knoxville. In his two seasons there he made three tackles with one sack. He will have three years to play at his next stop.
