
USC hit a season high 60% from the floor including 12 of 22 behind the three-point line in defeating Wofford 85-74 Tuesday night at the Colonial Life Arena. With their third straight win, the Gamecocks improve to 4-1 on the season.
Erik Stevenson was the sharpest of the Gamecock sharpshooters with a season high 25 points. He hit 9 of 14 from the floor and 5 of 7 behind the arc. Stevenson, who struggled with his shot early in the season, is 15 of 23 from the floor the last two games and 8 of 15 from three.
James Reese V added 15 points and Jermaine Couisnard 14 to the Gamecock attack. Forward AJ Wilson made his season debut after dealing with a back injury and an illness and contributed 4 points, 3 rebounds 2 steals and a block.
Max Klesmit was high man for Wofford with 27 points including 5 three-pointers.
Wofford led 24-16 eight minutes into the game, but the Gamecocks led 42-38 at the half. USC scored the first 8 points of the second half, but the Terriers responded with a 12-0 run to tie the game at 50. Then it was the Gamecocks scoring the next ten points to go back up 60-50. The lead eventually was pushed to 14 points and the Terriers could get no closer than 7 points the rest of the way
