#Clemson dips in the new polls, Coastal with mixed results

DT Bryan Bresee celebrates after making a big hit against Georgia Tech (Travis Bell/SIDELINE CAROLINA)

Clemson was a 28-point favorite over Georgia Tech going into yesterday’s game at Death Valley. They tigers played nothing like that struggling all day against the inspired Yellow Jackets and avoided an upset by the hair of James Skalski’s beard. AP voters took note and dropped the Tigers to 9th on Sunday, their lowest ranking in that poll since they were 7th in the October 15th, 2017 ranking. The Tigers dropped one spot in the coaches ranking to #7.

Coastal Carolina survived a road scare at Buffalo Saturday. The Chanticleers moved up one spot in the coaches ranking to 17th, but they dropped a position in the AP poll to 17th.

Alabama remains a strong #1 in the AP ranking receiving 59 of the 62 first place votes. Georgia received the other three and is 2nd. Oregon, Oklahoma and Iowa complete the top five.
