The Tigers’ shooting ran cold and Clemson saw its five-game winning streak snapped 64-54, at Syracuse, Wednesday. Guards Al-Amir Dawes and Alex Hemenway were the only Tigers to reach double figures, scoring 11 points, apiece. Clemson shot just 34% from the field as a team and only attempted six free throws, making four. Syracuse didn’t fare much better offensively, hitting 37.5% of its shots, but it was good enough to hand Clemson its first loss since January 30th at Duke. Clemson has excelled at home this season, winning 10 of 11 at Littlejohn Coliseum, but struggled on the road, dropping 5 of 7 in opposing venues.

The loss drops the Tigers into a tie with North Carolina for sixth place in the ACC. Clemson (15-6, 9-6) will wrap up its regular season, Saturday, playing host to Pitt at noon. The ACC Tournament is set to tip off from Greensboro, NC, Tuesday, March 9th.
