USC gained a commitment from 2025 INF/OF Eli Pitts (5-10 155) of Suwanee, GA. He’s not yet 14 years old. He was named to the Perfect Game 13U National Showcase Top Prospect List. Here’s a PG scouting report on Pitts: “Medium athletic build with the beginnings of some present strength and room for plenty more. Very good runner, 7.10 in the sixty. Shows good quickness and range in the middle infield on defense, rounds the ball well with good footwork, 3/4’s arm slot with a good quick release, has middle infield defensive actions and athleticism. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a hard dive to his front side that is hard to time consistently, swings hard and with intent, can get jump off the barrel when he’s timed up, projects well as a hitter.”
DE Kelvin Gilliam (6-3 250) of Highland Springs, VA announced a commitment to Oklahoma Saturday night. He chose the Sooners over USC and Penn State. His close friend and teammate, CB Damond Harmon, committed to the Sooners August. The football season in Virginia has been moved to the spring, and Gilliam, who can not graduate early, plans to play in some of those games. Gilliam was a major force last season with 37 solo tackles, 45 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 7 sacks. He’s ranked 7th nationally among weakside defensive ends in the 247Sports Composite, and the #4 prospect in Virginia.
USC offered 6-5 Carlous Williams of Gulfport, MS. Baylor, Houston, LSU, Mississippi State and Oklahoma State are some of his other offers.
