Media covering USC football Thursday got to question several members of the defensive unit, including defensive ends coach Sterling Lucas. Last season the Gamecocks allowed over 400 yards and nearly 29 points per game.

Can they improve overall considering they lost starters in Zacch Pickens, Jordan Burch, Brad Johnson, Gilbur Edmond, Sherrod Greene, Cam Smith, Darius Rush and Devonni Reed? That’s the question facing coordinator Clayton White and his staff this month in camp.
