STRecruiting: South Carolina will possibly be adding another in-state offensive lineman to the roster in 2027

Dillon OL Marcus White (6-3 295) plans to join the South Carolina football program in January as a walk-on. White told SportsTalkSC of his intentions Friday while at USC for a new student orientation program.

White said he will play his senior year with the Wildcats with a goal to enroll at USC in January. He has discussed his plans with the USC coaches, but he hasn’t yet finalized everything with the Gamecocks.

White visited USC in March and April, and then worked out in a camp in June for offensive line coach Randy Clements. Assuming all works out for him to join the Gamecocks in January, White is hopeful of proving to Clements he’s worthy of a scholarship.

“Yes sir, exactly right,” White said. “Praying it turns into a scholarship, but if not, I’ll stick with the program.”

White has offers from East Carolina, Charlotte, Benedict, Fayetteville State and Maine.

The Gamecocks have five offensive linemen committed for the 2027 class. White is primarily an interior offensive lineman.
