STRecruiting: South Carolina fills a need a tight end by signing Chapin native and UCF free agent Max Drag

Max Drag (App State Athletics)

South Carolina continued to fill in holes on the offense with the signing of TE Max Drag (6-4 250) of UCF as reported b Pete Nakos of On3. Drag visited the Gamecocks on Saturday. The Chapin native began his career at Appalachian State before spending this past season with the Knights. At UCF this season, he played in 11 games and started one. He had three catches for 19 yards. In his two seasons at Appalachian, he played in 11 games and had one catch for 11 yards. He’s the only tight end signed out of free agency by the Gamecocks for this class. They also signed one out of high school. They have three veteran tight ends set to return. Drag is the 23rd free agent signing or commitment for the Gamecocks.
