Coming off Saturday’s win over Texas A&M, South Carolina climbed three spots in the AP Top 25 on Sunday. The Gamecocks were ranked 20th by the media voters, their first time in the top 20 since they were ranked 11th on September 7th of last season.
In voting for this week’s poll, the Gamecocks earned 399 points. Their high mark was 11th by Kirk Kinney of the San Diego Tribune, and two voters left them out of the Top 25. The two voters from South Carolina, Pete Yanity and Scott Hamilton, had the Gamecocks 19th and 20th on their ballots, respectively.
Georgia moved up to #1 following the blowout win at Ole Miss last night, and Miami’s loss at Notre Dame. The Irish climbed to third and the Hurricanes fell to fifth. Utah moved up to second after beating BYU, and UCLA moved ahead to fourth following the win over Minnesota.
Indiana is 6th and is followed by Alabama, Texas, Tennessee and Texas Tech.
