Release from USC:

Senior transfer wide receiver Jayden Gibson and sophomore wide receiver Jayden Sellers each endured season-ending lower-body injuries this week in practice.

Gibson spent the last four seasons at Oklahoma, appearing in 22 games (one start) with 15 catches for 387 yards (25.8 avg) and five touchdowns for the Sooners.

Sellers appeared in seven games (two starts) in his first season with the Gamecocks in 2025. He had 22 catches for 337 yards (15.3 avg), leading all Carolina freshmen. The Florence, S.C. native had four catches for a season-high 127 yards in a win vs. Coastal Carolina, hauling in a 75-yard touchdown pass.

“I am extremely disappointed for both of these young men,” said head coach Shane Beamer. “I know how hard each of them has worked over the spring and summer in getting ready for 2026 to help our team. I have full confidence they will both overcome the adversity they’re facing, and we will help them in whatever way we can throughout the rehab process moving forward.”
