USC coach Shane Beamer is looking for a bounce-back season in 2026

South Carolina Gamecocks top players:

Quarterback LaNorris Sellers: Sellers is going into his third season as a starter, and with his third different offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Most feel the union with Kendal Briles is one made in quarterback heaven. Sellers had a drop-off in his performance last season, though he was no slouch. He passed for 2437 yards and 13 touchdowns, slightly down from the previous season. The big drop was in his rushing numbers, down 400 yards and two touchdowns from 2024. The expectation is that side of his game will return in a big way this season.

Wide Receiver Nyck Harbor: The former Olympic track hopeful is now a true NFL first-round draft hopeful. He improved his numbers across the board last season with 30 catches for 618 yards and six touchdowns. He averaged over 20 yards per catch. It’s that last figure that figures to scare SEC defensive backs this season. Harbor’s 6-5 frame, combined with his elite speed, makes him one of the most dangerous receivers in the SEC.

Linebacker Justin Okoronkwo: South Carolina arguably has one of the best sets of linebackers in the SEC. Okoronkwo, Fred Johnson and Shawn Murphy combined for 175 tackles last season, and will be even better as a group this season. Okoronkwo led the way wth 64 tackles, including four tackles for loss and an interception.
