South Carolina is 2-0 as a ranked team this season. Wednesday night the 11th Gamecocks will play their first road game as a marked team as they play at 13th ranked Auburn. The Gamecocks are tied for first in the SEC with Alabama. They are 21-3 and 9-2 in the SEC and are riding a seven-game winning streak.
Auburn is 19-5 and 8-3 in conference play. The Tigers had a three-game winning streak snapped Saturday with a blow-out loss at Florida. Auburn is 12-0 at home the season, the last undefeated home team in the SEC.
This will mark the 50th meeting in the series which Auburn leads 30-19. The Tigers have won six in a row over the Gamecocks. This will mark the first time they’ve played each other as ranked teams.
Monday, USC coach Lamont Paris met with the media after practice to preview the game.
