USC offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains says Wednesday was a very long day for him, and it wasn’t because he was solely immersed in preparation for Saturday’s “Garnet and Black” game. Most of the stress came from the opening of the spring transfer window this week.
“Yesterday was hard. Your phone’s dinging every ten seconds from a GA saying this guy got in, and this guy got in,” Loggains explained to the media on Thursday. “You’re putting their names in there, and you’re watching the tape, and it’s a constant grind until 1 a.m. last night of trying to get guys evaluated. If you just go off the highlights, it’s like a movie trailer. Sometimes the movie trailer is a lot better than the movie. A lot of film was watched, and a lot of people were evaluated.”
His counterpart on the defensive side, Clayton White, says he’s looking forward to Saturday night and the opportunity to play in front of the home fans at Williams-Brice Stadium. White adds that he wants to see “clean” football during the spring game.
“I think the most important thing for us is just executing calls,” White says. “Very serious about us executing our calls; that’s the most important thing. I think there was one spring game we had a guy wide open in the right corner, and I’m still mad about it.”
USC’s “Garnet and Black” game is set for Saturday night at 7 p.m.
