South Carolina is hoping the wins over #3 Texas A&M and #13 North Carolina in their last two games is a sign of things to come. The Gamecocks put together one of their best games of the season in Charlotte Tuesday night defeating the Tar Heels 2-1. That followed a 6-5 win over the Aggies at home last Sunday.
The Gamecocks are 23-10 and 6-6 in the SEC as they head to Florida this weekend. They have lost three of their four SEC series to date and are tied with the Gators for fourth in the SEC East, a game behind Tennessee and two games back of Vanderbilt.
Last season the Gamecocks swept the Gators in Columbia. But the Gators got the last laugh by beating the Gamecocks two straight in the Super Regional in Gainesville. They eventually played for the national championship in the CWS.
Wednesday, Gamecock coach Mark Kingston met with the media to talk about his team and the trip this weekend.
