An amendment to Shane Beamer’s contract gets approval from the USC Board of Trustees

During their Friday meeting, the USC BOT neither extended Shane Beamer’s contract nor approved a raise

It seemed a bit odd that the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees would have an item on its Friday agenda entitled “Shane Beamer Employment Agreement Changes.” Especially considering the new season kicks off in a little over two weeks and Beamer’s current deal runs through 2030.

As it turns out, the BOT dealt more with the inner workings of his current contract, including the means in which his compensation is paid.

South Carolina opens the 2026 football schedule on Saturday, September 5th, at home versus Kent State. It will mark the beginning of Shane Beamer’s sixth season on the sidelines with the Gamecocks.
