South Carolina offensive line coach Randy Clements offered OT Jaylen Hill (6-5 295) of Lanett, AL, earlier this month, and Tuesday Hill made his first visit to USC to learn more about the program and have deeper conversations with assistant offensive line coach Jason (Coach Smooth) Smith and recruiting assistant Sam Serbay.
“Those went great, and really enjoyed the home atmosphere,” Hill said. “Also really enjoyed being around Coach Smooth. He was the one I spent the day with since Coach Clem was on the road. They laid out how I’m a great fit to the room and how my ability fits what they do on offense.”
Part of the conversation dealt with Hill scheduling a date for an official visit.
“I do not have one at the moment,” Hill said. “It will probably have to be during the midweek. We’re in talks about a few dates with Coach.”
Hill also got a chance to check out the facilities and other aspects of the football program.
“It was very nice and top tier all the way around,” Hill said. “I was really impressed with everything that I saw and got to experience great hospitality with Coach Serbay and Coach Smooth.
Hill has set official visits with Arkansas for May 29th, Kansas State for June 5th, Pitt for June 10th, Mississippi State for June 12th, and Missouri for May 19th.
