Clemson Monday came up short in the recruiting battle for OT Hardy Watts (6-6 285) of Brookline, MA. The Tigers were up against a pair of Big Ten programs in Wisconsin and Michigan. Watts chose the Badgers. His decision leaves the Tigers with three committed offensive linemen in their 2025 class.
Clemson Monday also missed on WR Cortez Mills of Homestead, FL as he committed to Oklahoma. The Tigers appeared to be the favorites for a long time, but in the last few days national analysts began pointing to Oklahoma. He also considered LSU, Nebraska and Florida.
Not all the Monday news is bad news for the Tigers. Clemson recruiting expert Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated, gave a projection Monday morning of 2026 quarterback Tait Reynolds (6-4 195) of Queen Creek, AZ to the Tigers. Reynolds last week decommitted from Arizona State for baseball. He attended one of the Dabo Swinney camps in June and picked up an offer from quarterbacks coach Garrett Riley following his performance.
