Rested and ready, #CCU head coach Tim Beck says the Chanticleers are eager to open Sun Belt play (AUDIO)

Coastal Carolina is back in action this Saturday as the Chanticleers host Old Dominion in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams. The Chanticleers (3-1) are coming off an open date, while ODU picked up its first win of the season with a 30-27 victory at Bowling Green this past Saturday.

If you were to just look at their record, the Monarchs appear to be a perfect bounce back opponent for CCU following the Chanticleers 43-24 loss to Virginia two weeks ago. However, ODU’s three setbacks have come at the hands of South Carolina, East Carolina, and Virginia Tech. A point that head coach Tim Beck has stressed during his team’s practice sessions this week.

“They are coming through adversity, they’re growing as a football team,” Beck said. “They continue to improve; they continue to get better. We’ve got to come and play and bring our best game.”

The second-year head coach of the Chanticleers held his weekly press conference on Wednesday to update the health of his team and to break down Saturday’s home date with Old Dominion.
