STRecruiting: South Carolina RB target to announce Friday; Two offensive tackles reportedly strong on USC

South Carolina might add a talented running back to the 2026 class Friday afternoon. Amari Thomas of Blountstown, FL, will publicly announce a commitment at his school with the Gamecocks, Colorado, Georgia Tech and Florida State as his finalists. Thomas committed to Florida State earlier in the year and decommitted last month. He said earlier this week, even with today’s announcement, he doesn’t plan to shut down his recruiting and will continue to take visits during the season. Over the past two seasons, Thomas has rushed for 3245 yards and 56 touchdowns over the past two seasons.

Chad Simmons of Rivals reported this week that South Carolina appears to be in strong shape with OT Darius Gray for his August 22nd commitment, and he is now predicting Gray will pick the Gamecocks over LSU.

A report on Rivals Thursday stated Tennessee is the current favorite for 2027 DE Rashad Streets (6-3 230) of Raleigh. South Carolina and Clemson are also in the hunt. He plans to visit Clemson for the LSU game, and he also plans to visit USC for the Alabama game. Oregon, Ohio State and Penn State are some other top schools with him.

Rivals Thursday reported that 2027 OT Joshua Sam-Epelle (6-8 305) of Douglasville, GA has South Carolina as the current favorite. Clemson is also involved. He also likes Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, LSU and Ole Miss.

2027 DE LaDamion Guyton of Savannah, who had South Carolina on his short list along with Georgia and Tennessee, committed to Texas Tech.

Georgia is the latest offer for Clemson and South Carolina target 2027 DE Rashad Streets of Raleigh.

South Carolina 2027 target DT Jesiah Fields of Charlotte was offered by Louisville.

South Carolina target OT Jordan Dillon (6-4 325) of Savannah was offered by Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

2027 Irmo OT Nate Carson was offered by Nebraska.

6-3 Oliviyah Edwards of Tacoma, WA, who has an official visit set with South Carolina, has the Gamecocks in her top six along with Southern Cal, Tennessee, Florida, Washington and LSU.

6-1 Jayla Jordyn Jackson of Washington, DC will make her commitment announcement Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. The finalists are South Carolina, Maryland, TCU, Ohio State, Alabama and Miami.
