SAF Davion Jones (6-0 175) of Cornelius, NC wrapped up his official visit to South Carolina on Sunday afternoon without making a commitment. Jones also took official visits to Indiana, LSU, Georgia, and Auburn. He plans to make a private commitment to one of those next Sunday, and then he’ll make a public commitment on July 26th.

Jones has been one of the most frequent visitors to USC over the last couple of seasons, so this weekend was about renewing old acquaintances and hearing once again from Shane Beamer and Torrian Gray, among others.

“It was a great experience. I got the time to spend some time with a couple of people I do know,” Jones said. “Some guys I grew up with, some guys I play against from the past years. It was just a good experience. The biggest thing I got was last year was last year. They went to a New Year’s (Bowl) the previous year, and they’re just looking to make it to the top.”

Jones has always liked the Gamecocks throughout his recruiting process, and the official visit didn’t change those feelings.

“Falling in the same spot,” Jones said. “Honestly, they all just fall in the same spot. I will, when I get back home, talk all my business over with my family and make a decision, but as of right now, all my schools are equal.”

Jones added that over the next week, he’ll compare and contrast the pros and cons of each of his five finalists.

“I’ll just look over how I fit,” he said. “The defense they run. Just everything that needs to be taken into consideration about picking the school.”

Jones is one of the top uncommitted defensive backs nationally. He was joined on the visit by his teammate and fellow highly regarded DB Joshua Dobson, who also remains uncommitted with an announcement date of July 1st.
