


Saturday Night Notes:
Bluffton WR Amare Patterson committed to North Carolina on Saturday night. Patterson is one of the top receivers in the state, coming off a junior season of 48 catches for 877 yards and 10 touchdowns. He visited Chapel Hill on Monday, one day after wrapping up an official visit to USC. Earlier this week, it was reported by InsideTheGamecocks that the Gamecocks were moving on from Patterson. As it turns out, the Gamecocks brought in Kentucky WR commitment Iveon Lewis of Richmond for an official visit this weekend, according to Wes Mitchell of GamecockCentral. Patterson also made official visits to Georgia and Georgia Tech. A planned visit to Florida was canceled.
WRs Malik Ratliff of Northwestern and MiCah McKlintock (6-4 215) of Woodruff are taking official visits to North Carolina this weekend, according to Don Callahan of InsideCarolina. Ratliff camped at USC earlier this month, but the Gamecocks have not offered. NC State offered earlier this month. McKlintoch has also taken official visits to Coastal Carolina, Liberty, and FAU.
Lugoff-Elgin WR EJ Richardson (6-0 185) committed to Coastal Carolina.
WR Darius Carter of River Bluff committed to Coastal Carolina.
TE Rhys Dainauski of Gunter, TX committed to Furman.
QB DJ Hunter of Buford, GA, who was offered by South Carolina in February, committed to James Madison.
Clemson target 2028 OL Reece Wilmes was offered by Ohio State.
Clemson and South Carolina target 2028 OL Ty McCurry was offered by Ohio State.
Former Daniel 2028 QB Grayson Clary, now at Rabun Gap, GA, was offered by Oklahoma State.
2029 OL Jordan Lewis of Dorman was offered by Virginia Tech.
Former South Carolina LHP Logan Prisco is headed to Texas A&M.
Former South Carolina catcher Gavin Braland is headed to Gardner-Webb.
Former South Carolina LHP Alex Valentin is headed to Arizona State. 14 of the 23 USC players who entered the free agent market have found new homes.
Former Houston pitcher Max McCraray is headed to Coastal Carolina. He pitched 9.1 innings this season and was 1-0 with a 2.79 ERA.
Houston 3B Jackson Lalima is headed to Coastal Carolina. This season, he hit .229 with nine homers and 26 RBIs.
Friday Night Notes:
Per GamecockCentral, WR Iveon Lewis of Richmond, a Kentucky commit, is taking an official visit to USC this weekend. Lewis committed to Kentucky on May 9th, and had the Gamecocks in his final five at that time. Last season, he had 41 catches for 1046 yards and 12 touchdowns. There are now five official visitors for USC this weekend.
South Carolina offered 2029 DB Shiloh Graham and 2029 CB Jymel Green of Charlotte.
2028 QB Anthony Turner (6-5 195) of Virginia Beach camped at South Carolina on Friday. He was offered by North Carolina on Friday night, and has several over P4 offers, including one from the Gamecocks, who offered in early May. Other offers include Kentucky, Florida, LSU, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Maryland. Last season he passed for 2200 yards and 20 touchdowns, and rushed for 427 yards and five touchdowns.
Basketball News
Clemson offered 6-9 Davis Cochran of Brentwood, TN. Some of his other offers are Virginia, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Boston College, Kansas State, and Northwestern. He has taken an official visit to Cincinnati.
USC coach Lamont Paris added two more players to the roster in 6-10 Nasir Hines of Palm Beach State JC, and 6-4 Ford Wilder of Wilson Hall. That gives the Gamecocks a full roster of 15 players for this season.
Paris on new signee 6-8 Mathias Allessanco: “Mathias is a very talented young prospect that plays with tremendous poise and pace for a player of his age. He has outstanding basketball instincts and has shown the ability to create offense in a variety of ways. Mathias is the type of player that will generally have some advantage in most of his matchups. While his knee injury was unfortunate, I believe Mathias is equipped with the determination, commitment and discipline required to take full advantage of this next year. He will learn our system, improve his basketball skills and fine tune his body in a way that there is little doubt he will come out on the other side stronger in every facet of the game.”
Byrne’s PG Colton Fowler was offered by UTEP and Ohio.
Baseball News
USC landed former Wake Forest catcher Andrew Costello out of the free agent market. The Erie, PA native hit .244 with four home runs and 17 RBIs with the Demon Deacons this season.
Former South Carolina RHP Tyler Pitzer announced he will return to the Gamecocks for his senior season after pitching at Mississippi State this season, where he was 2-3 with one save and a 3.90 ERA.
OF/INF Joseph Rutledge of Indian Land committed to South Carolina.
South Carolina free agent 3B Dawson Harman is headed to Miami.
