2028 OT Sam Walker (6-5 290) of Carrollton, GA, named a top three of South Carolina, Clemson, and Georgia Tech. The Gamecocks offered him in May, and the Tigers offered about a month later. Some of his other offers include UCLA, Kentucky, Miami, Texas A&M, LSU, Kansas, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Nebraska, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Auburn.
South Carolina target 2028 OT Ty Winn of Philadelphia has established more game dates for this season after first setting one with the Gamecocks for November 21st. He now also has Florida State on August 29th, Georgia Tech on September 12th, Florida on September 26th, Penn State on October 10th, and Syracuse on October 21st.
Former Clemson forward RJ Godfrey is headed to Arizona for a fifth season. Godfrey had entered his name in the portal in the spring and thus is eligible to take advantage of the Friday night ruling, which allows the freshmen in the 2022 class to fall under the NCAA’s new five-for-five rule. Godfrey played his first two college seasons at Clemson before signing with Georgia. He returned to Clemson this past season. He has career averages of seven points and four rebounds per game.
Clemson guard Dillon Hunter reportedly planned to enter the portal, but the Friday night ruling will not allow him to do so. If a player had not entered the portal during the last open window for their sport, that player can only play the fifth year for their previous team. According to Will Vandervort of the Clemson Insider, Hunter had recently signed with a pro team in Germany, but might return to Clemson. The Tigers have a spot available on the roster, and Vandervort reported Clemson can pay Hunter more than the pro team can.
Jamie Shaw of Rivals has South Carolina squarely in the mix with 2028 6-7 Antoine Caughman, a Columbia native who will play for Oak Hill Academy this season. He also reported that Indiana, UCLA, Cal and Ole Miss are also prominent with Caughman.
South Carolina landed a pair of commitments from pitchers Saturday night. 5th-year RH Greg Shaw III of UConn will attempt to take advantage of the new court injunction to play another season. And Chase Colaianni is a 2027 prospect from Fair Lawn, NJ. Shaw is 6-3, 227, and a native of New York State. He played his first two seasons at Manhattan. He was exclusively a reliever with UConn over two seasons and was 8-1 with 5 saves and a 3.83 ERA in 39 appearances. He struck out 73 and walked 35 in 84.2 innings. Colaianni was once committed to Stetson. He also visited Virginia Tech and NC State recently.
2027 Coastal Carolina commitment catcher Geno De Santis announced a decommitment from the Chants on Sunday.

Basketball: Dead period through August 19th, Quiet Period August 20-September 8, Contact Period September 9-Noember 8; Baseball: Contact Period August 1-16, Quiet Period August 17-September 10.
