STRecruiting Notebook: It’s Signing Week. USC working on some reversals; Clemson expected to lose another commitment

The early signing period for football begins on Wednesday and runs through Friday.  This past Saturday, South Carolina entertained three prospects who are committed to other SEC programs.  RB Carsyn Baker of Fairburn, GA has been committed to Florida since June 13th. He was in for an official visit.   DT PJ Dean of Winston-Salem, NC has been committed to Georgia since June 30th.  He was in for an unofficial visit.  And SAF Tamarion Watkins of Northwestern has been committed to Texas A&M since July 14th.  He was in for an unofficial visit.

The Gamecocks are also continuing to work on long-time Michigan commitment DE Julian Walker of Dutch Fork.  He visited Michigan over the weekend, taking his mother with him for her first exposure to the Wolverines’ program. Walker has been a Michigan commitment since the summer, but he went to nearly every USC home game this season. Of course, his father is a member of the USC strength staff. South Carolina has continued to recruit Walker as if he’s not committed and is giving the Gamecocks serious consideration.

Rivals national analyst Steve Wiltfong over the weekend issued a projection for Clemson commitment SAF Kaden Gebhardt to reverse to Ohio State. Gebhardt, who is from Ohio, has been a Clemson commitment since March. He would be the fourth decommitment for Clemson in the 2026 class.

Here’s a list of targets who visited or planned to visit USC on Saturday:
