STRecruiting Notebook 9-23: Clemson misses on a pair of defensive targets; USC in play for former UConn commit; Miller to check out another SEC team this weekend

Two prime Clemson defensive targets are headed to SEC programs. LB Jay Schell of Rabun Gap, GA, and SAF Giovanni Tuggle of Winder, GA, announced on Tuesday commitments to Oklahoma and Missouri, respectively. Schell, whose dad is a former Clemson quarterback, grew up in the shadow of Death Valley and visited Clemson for the Georgia Southern game. He visited Oklahoma last weekend. Tuggle visited Clemson last season. He also had Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee among his favorites.

DB Preston Glasco of Loganville, GA, a South Carolina target, decommitted from UConn. Glasco visited the Gamecocks last weekend, and he is going to visit Alabama this weekend for an official visit. He has also visited Georgia, and the Bulldogs are heavily involved as well.

Clemson commitment DE RJ Hudson was offered by Texas.

Clemson and South Carolina target 2028 DE Asher Ghioto of Jacksonville plans to visit Georgia this Saturday.

2029 DB Christian Nesby of Asheville visited South Carolina Saturday.

2027 WR Maleek Miller of Irmo will visit Georgia this Saturday. He visited USC for each of the first three games of the season. The Gamecocks have not yet offered.

2029 LB Dash Holley of Northwestern was offered by Ole Miss.
