USC went one-for-two on commitments on Wednesday, landing CB Josh Dobson and missing on DE Marquis Evans, who committed to Auburn. The Gamecocks now have 14 commitments, and they are projected to add #15 on Thursday night in SAF Davion Jones, Dobson’s teammate at Hough High in Cornelius, NC. Jones made official visits to USC, Indiana, Georgia, Auburn and LSU. He has cut Indiana from his list. Like Dobson, he has been recruited by Shane Beamer and Torrian Gray for several years and has built a close relationship with the program. Beamer, in fact, issued a commitment alert on Wednesday night, making it the third unclaimed alert. Two other USC targets, OL Nate Carson and DE Jayden Broadie, are set to make their commitment announcements on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both are believed to be strong USC leans.
Former Alabama RHP Austin Morris is headed to Coastal Carolina. He’s a native of Warrior, AL, who joined the Crimson Tide in 2023. In his career, he is 6-0 with a 5.23 ERA.
6-7 RHP Ethan Marmie is headed to Coastal Carolina from Cal Poly. He missed all of last season coming off of Tommy John surgery. In 2025, he was 5-5 with a 5.83 ERA.
RHP Chris Billingsley Jr. of Mississippi State is headed to Coastal Carolina. He pitched 23.2 innings this season with a 1-0 record and a 6.08 ERA.
