Late Sunday night, free agent RHP Miguel Hugas of Mercer announced a commitment to South Carolina. The native of Venezuela was 9-2 with a 6.17 ERA this season. He struck out 52, walked 24, and hit 21 in 77.1 innings. He’s the 15th new pitcher added to the roster.
Former College of Charleston 6-4 RHP Carter Harrington, a Columbia native, committed to USC. As a freshman last season he pitched 64.2 innings, went 3-5 with a 5.37 ERA. He struck out 49, walked 27 and hit 11.
RHP Aaron Dierks decommitted from the South Carolina 2026 recruiting class.
RHP Trip Brown is heading to Coastal Carolina from The Citadel. This season he was 3-3 with a 3.09 ERA.
South Carolina target DE Marquis Evans of Hoover, AL has set July 1st for his commitment announcement. He made official visits to USC, Tennessee, Miami, Auburn and Florida. Some are projecting him to Auburn.
OL Dewey Young, who made an official visit to South Carolina, named a final four of Colorado, Georgia Tech, Georgia and Vanderbilt. He announces on July 6th.
Lucy Beckham OL and Georgia commitment Ty Johnson was selected for the Navy All-American Game.
LB Tyson Washington, who had a Clemson offered among others committed to Virginia Tech.
2028 QB Jace Grass of Daniel was offered by Cal and Louisville.
