STRecruiting Notebook 4-23: USC women add national recruit Oliviyah Edwards to 2026 class; additional PM football notes

South Carolina is one of six official visits set by DE Mikahi Allen of Ramsey, NJ. He was at Illinois last weekend. He has Tennessee May 22nd, Texas A&M May 29th, South Carolina June 5th, Florida State June 12th and Texas June 19th.

OL Elijah Hutcheson of Roanoke, VA has Clemson in his final four along with Virginia Tech, Florida and Vanderbilt.

South Carolina OL coach Randy Clements visited Wednesday with OL Will Endicott of Prosper, TX. Endicott has been favoring the Gamecocks and has an official visit on June 5th.

South Carolina running backs coach Stan Drayton visited 2028 RB Michael Martin of Christ Church on Wednesday.

South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson visited with DL Amir Moore (6-7, 265) of Harrells, NC on Wednesday.

South Carolina OL coach Randy Clements visited OL Caleb Siler of Gunter, TX this week. Siler has visited the Gamecocks unofficially. He is visiting UCLA and Stanford this weekend and will set his official visits after these trips.

LB AJ Randle of Raleigh has finalized his official visits. He had previously set South Carolina for May 1st and Ohio State for June 12th. He’s added NC State May 8th, Florida May 29th, Miami June 5th, and Georgia June 19th.

WR Kyren Caldwell of Lake City, FL has South Carolina in his top seven, along with Georgia, Mississippi State, Alabama, Maryland, Colorado and Auburn.

Clemson receivers coach Tyler Grisham visited with WR Lawrence Britt of Memphis on Wednesday.

2028 DB Langston Pridgeon of Ashburn, VA visited Clemson on Tuesday.

2028 TE Gregory Kirman (6-5 225) of North Kingston, RI visited South Carolina on Wednesday.

South Carolina offered 2028 QB Carter Zingelmann (6-5 223) of Coppell, TX. Last season he passed for over 2000 yards and 17 touchdowns, and he rushed for over 800 yards and 15 touchdowns. Some of his other offers are Florida State, Syracuse, Baylor, Oregon, Arkansas, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Arizona State, SMU, Tennessee, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Arizona, and TCU, among others.

South Carolina offered 2028 OL Ty McCurry (6-6 290) of Southlake, TX. Some of his other offers are Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas, Baylor and SMU.

South Carolina offered 2028 RB Caiden Bellard (5-10 192) of Lafayette, LA. He also has offers from LSU, Florida State, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Illinois, TCU, Houston, Arkansas, Miami and others.

South Carolina offered 2029 DE Dekeen Kuyateh (6-3 230) of Baltimore.

South Carolina target WR Brody Knowles was offered by Colorado.

Tennessee had a visit Thursday with Clemson target OL Carter Jones.

Woodruff RB Aiden Gibson made an unofficial visit to Rutgers on Wednesday.

Lucy Beckham OT Ty Johnson, who is committed to Georgia, was offered by Auburn.

Oceanside Collegiate WR Jaiden Kelly-Murray was offered by Kansas State.

2029 RB Brayden Boults of Crestwood was offered by Baylor.

Basketball News:

6-3 Oliviyah Edwards of Tacoma, WA committed to the South Carolina women on Thursday. The highly recruited prospect signed with Tennessee and November, but she was given her release last month as Tennessee lost all of its returning players, and two of its assistant coach.

USC coach coach Dawn Staley announced that Jordan Lee will join the Gamecocks as a transfer from Texas for the 2026-27 academic year. Lee played her first two seasons at Texas with the 6-foot guard averaging 9.5 points on 41.87 percent shooting, including 36.3 percent from 3-point range.

Per TheBigSpur 6-5 free agent Davion Hannah from Alabama will visit South Carolina today. He’s a native of Wisconsin who was a freshman at Alabama this season. He missed the last 24 games of the season with tailbone and back issues. He averaged three points and two rebounds per game. He was heavily recruited out of high school and Wisconsin is also considered a major player for him.

South Carolina announced the signing of 6-5 free agent guard Shane Blakeney, a native of Rock Hill who had played for Drexel.

The College of Charleston announced announced the signing of Braden Pierce to the 2026-27 Cougars’ roster. The 7’0 center spent the 2025-26 season at Villanova, appearing in 30 contests for the Wildcats while shooting 67% from the field.

6-4 Jaylen Cross of Greensboro, NC committed to Coastal Carolina.

6-6 Cam Lowe of Black Hills State is headed to Wofford.

Clemson women landed former North Carolina forward 6-1 Taliyah Henderson. She averaged four pointers per game last season as a freshman.

6-9 Okku Federiko, who spent one season at South Carolina, is moving from Drake to Northwestern.

Former Coastal Carolina guard Jacob Meyer is returning to the Sun Belt as he is transferring to Georgia State. Meyer has also played at DePaul and UAB.
